Collection & community
The Social label Foundation (2014) was established by designers Petra Janssen (Studio Boot) and Simone Kramer (C-mone). They design made-to-measure labour linked with meaningful design, allowing people on the sidelines of mainstream employment to participate and take pride in the beautiful products that they manufacture. In collaboration with leading designers and sheltered workshops throughout the Netherlands – from care organisations to businesses – Social label is creating a design collection that builds a sense of self-worth and opens up new perspectives. A platform for designing labour to generate new opportunities and demonstrate what meaningful design can do to create an inclusive society with enjoyable work for all.
